MAGMA trial

Multi-Arm Glioblastoma Australasia (MAGMA): Multi-Arm Randomised Clinical Trial For People Affected By Glioblastoma

The COGNO-led MAGMA trial is a multi-arm phase III randomised controlled trial and the largest adult glioblastoma trial ever conducted in Australia. Opened at 28 sites, including 6 regional and rural sites, we are pleased to report recruitment is now complete, with 352 trial participants registered to answer the two trial questions:

1) Does starting temozolomide immediately after surgery, before chemoradiotherapy, improve outcomes?

2) Should patients receive 6 cycles of temozolomide after chemoradiotherapy, or continue temozolomide until disease progression?

The trial is now in the follow-up phase, with outcome analysis planned once sufficient data becomes available.
